The GMVCVB partners with member hotels, restaurants, galleries, museums,  and other meeting venues to ensure you a successful and memorable experiences. The Greater Merrimack Valley CVB will assist meeting planners with site inspections, bid proposals, transportation options, publicity, destination literature and local ambassadors to greet your guests.

With over 230,000 square feet of flexible meeting space we can comfortably accommodate groups up to 8,000. The state of the art Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell has a seating capacity of 8,000 with 30,000 square feet of exhibit space. The historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium has a seating capacity of 3,000 with approximately 20,000 square feet of exhibit space. In addition, many of our hotels have extensive meeting and ballroom space to accommodate trade shows, break out sessions, special events and banquets. With over 4,000 committable hotel rooms, offering a wide variety of features and amenities, you’re sure to find the perfect place for your next meeting or convention.

The Greater Merrimack Valley is easily accessible. It is located just northwest of Boston with easy highway access from Routes 3, I-93 and I-495. Direct commuter rail service is available to and from Boston via the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. Attendees can also fly into one of three airports within a 30-mile radius of Lowell: Logan International Airport in Boston, Manchester Airport in Manchester, N.H. or Hanscom Regional Airfield in Bedford.

When your attendees are ready to relax, there are plenty of things to do and see. You will find the Greater Merrimack Valley rich in history, culture, fine-dining, first class entertainment and some of the best shopping in New England.

CVB Services

The Greater Merrimack Valley CVB would like to assist you with your convention and event arrangements. Our service department is most willing to provide you with the following assistance when patronizing one of our member hotels or attractions:

Bid Proposals: We will prepare and submit bid proposals as well as contact hotels and meeting/events/sports venues to reserve the amenities that meet your needs.

Site Inspections/Pre-Convention Planning: Our sales representative will accompany you on an inspection of Merrimack Valley hotels, attractions and meeting facilities as well as provide additional information on events, entertainment, and historical sites to help increase your attendance.

Computerized Housing Bureau: The Housing Bureau is available to groups utilizing multiple properties. Reservations are confirmed individually by each hotel you select.

Program Assistance: The Greater Merrimack Valley CVB will assist you in locating local resources such as catering, florists, photographers, office equipment, promotional materials, souvenir ideas, security personnel, as well as any of your other trade show and exhibit needs.

Guest Programs/Special Events: The Greater Merrimack Valley CVB will help you plan guest programs, sightseeing tours, and children’s activities. Step-on guides and escorts are available for a fee. Guest speakers and/or entertainment, sample tour itineraries, and pre and post convention/event tours are available. We can also arrange welcome addresses from city dignitaries and letters from the Mayor of Lowell and the Governor of Massachusetts.

Destination Literature: The Official Guide to the Greater Merrimack Valley as well as any applicable regional brochures can be provided for your attendees on request. These information packets are great for pre-convention mailings or as the basis for check-in packets. Information supplied includes hotel listings, maps, restaurants, attractions, and a calendar of events.

Publicity and Promotion: We offer assistance to you in promoting your meeting or event. Contact information for and lists of local, state, and national media are available. Destination information is available for press purposes as well as press releases, color slides, video, and slide shows. Local media interviews can also be arranged.

Destination Ambassadors: The CVB can provide your event with members of our core group of volunteers to assist your attendees with maps, directions, and information on local attractions, restaurants, transportation, and services.

Welcome Bags: The CVB can provide CVB logo bags containing information regarding local dining, shopping, and attractions for your group.
