Celebrate the longest day of the year on the banks of the Concord River. We’ll revel in the long day by walking in the landscape around the Old Manse and learning about how different residents used the land. We’ll see where Ezra Ripley kept his cow, stroll through an orchard, and watch the flow of the Concord river that brought Thoreau and others to the Manse. After our walk, we will gather around a fire, share s’mores and hear readings from different Concord authors, including Thoreau about the seasons and the solstice.
