Art in the Park with Claire Gagnon: Drawing Lowell Architecture

In this class, students will learn how to get inspired by the beautiful Lowell architecture. Concepts such as vanishing point and horizon line. Using the buildings on Middle Street and on Shattuck Street, the teacher will start with a simple demonstration, then the students will draw. Some of the students may have time to do a few drawings, and others will only do one drawing during the allotted time.

Materials used:
sketchbook, pencils, eraser. Also recommended: light chair, hat, sunscreen, water to drink

Suggested Audience
Adult Students of all levels. No prior experience required.

About the Artist
Claire Gagnon has been teaching for 5 years. She created Chez Claire Art School in 2018 and teaches adult painting and drawing classes at the Brush Art Gallery and Studios in her studio. Claire’s approach to teaching is very gentle and inspiring for students. Teaching is personalized. Claire started painting in 1995 and is very passionate about creation and outdoor drawing and painting.
