The Belleville Roots Music Series presents blues artist Corey Harris on Saturday, June 17, at 8 pm at the Belleville Congregational Church in conjunction with the Newburyport DEI Alliance and the North Shore Juneteenth Association. The show will feature an on-stage Q&A with Harris. With one foot in tradition and the other in contemporary experimentation, Harris is a truly unique voice in contemporary music. He has performed, recorded, and toured with many of the top names in music such as BB King, Taj Mahal and Buddy Guy, provided music for films, and received a MacArthur Fellowship award for his work leading a revival of Mississippi Delta blues by infusing traditional styles with influences from jazz, reggae gospel, and African and Caribbean folk styles.
Refreshments by Bent Water Brewing, Lucille Wine Shop and snacks by the Belleville Congregational Church Hospitality Committee.
General admission: $35 in advance; $40 at the door; $10 ages 18 & under
