Ellen Garrison was born in the Robbins House in 1823. Come hear about her inspiring and challenging youth in Concord, as well as her fascinating career as an educator and social justice advocate. Dr. Maria Madison is the founder and president of the Robbins House, Inc., a historic home and nonprofit organization focused on raising awareness of African-American history in Concord. Dr. Kerrie Greenidge teaches history at Tufts University and the University of Massachusetts, Boston. This lecture is in partnership with the Robbins House.
