The Whistler House Museum of Art
Announces Closing Reception for
Out of the Vault: Works of Art from
the Whistler House Collection
The Whistler House Museum of Art (WHMA) is proud to have exhibited a selection of artworks from its permanent collection, Out of the Vault. A closing reception will be held on Saturday, April 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Parker Gallery.
We welcome visitors to experience the exhibition’s beautiful seascapes, rural landscapes, and ethereal portraits which perfectly capture the essence of the WHMA’s permanent collection.
Rolling hills and choppy waters are shown side-by-side in the museum’s Parker Gallery, reflecting on the delicate balance of nature. These works of art further mirror the incredible paintings exhibited in the historic house, which feature similar New England scenes and elegant figures. The exhibition includes artists Walter Lofthouse Dean, Aldro Thompson Hibbard, William Preston Phelps, Mary Earl Wood, Arthur Spear, and many more.
With many works exhibited for the first time, these paintings offer a wider glimpse into the WHMA’s permanent collection and the stunning art in its vault, now brought out into the light of day.
The WHMA will hold a closing reception for the Out of the Vault exhibition on Saturday, April 15th, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Parker Gallery. The reception is FREE AND OPEN TO ALL. Refreshments will be served.
