WORKS BY BLAKE BRASHER at TreMonte Pizzeria Restaurant and Bar

Exhibit: Now through December 31, 2018

Reception: Thursday, October 4, 6-8PM

Lowell, MA:  Arts curator Mary Hart is pleased to announce an exhibition of art works by Blake Brasher, on display at TreMonte Pizzeria Restaurant and Bar in downtown Lowell, now through December 31, 2018.

The public is invited to an opening reception on Thursday, October 4, from 6 to 8 PM.

Brasher’s paintings are abstract and experimental. He considers his work an “exploration of the physical and spiritual nature of life as expressed in color and movement.”  He hopes his paintings evoke a sense of wordless wonder in the viewer, like one might get watching a sunset or the northern lights.  Brasher adds, “I consider a painting a success if it has that spiritual quality that draws people into a state of meditative contemplation.”

Blake Brasher grew up in North Pole, Alaska and earned a B.S. in Art and Design from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) in 2003.  Brasher has held solo exhibitions in Poland, Romania, Belmont, MA and at the Hudson Gallery in Gloucester, MA.  He has exhibited in group shows from California to Milan, Italy.  He works part time as a robotics engineer at Google and maintains a studio on Market Street in Lowell.

TreMonte Pizzeria Restaurant and Bar is located in the heart of historical downtown Lowell at 112 Middle Street and opens at 11:30 AM daily.  It closes at 10 PM on Sunday – Tuesday, 10:30 PM Wednesday and Thursday and 11 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Mary Hart is a Lowell resident, an artist member of the Arts League of Lowell (ALL), the founder of Downtown Lowell First Thursdays, and an adjunct professor in the art department at Middlesex Community College.
