What: Halloween tales. Join The Guild of Historic Interpreters in a very spooky, candle-lit setting for an evening of traditional New England ghost stories. For families with young children we are offering a special, less scary lantern walk at 5:30 p.m. followed by stories in the barn. The walk will gather at the Hartwell Parking Area. The regular story-telling program will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Hartwell barn, appropriate for ages 7 and up. Please bring a flashlight for the walk from the Hartwell parking area to the barn.

What: The performance is based on the original production "Slaughterhouse," by Norman Robbins.  In the story, Romney Marsh, former king of the stage, invites a select group from his latest production to his manor. However, someone is harboring a dark secret that threatens the lives of all the guests.  When the weekend takes a dark turn, the party begins to feel more like the plot from one of his horror plays.  Will they be able to solve the mystery before it is too late? New this year is “Vampire Passage” an attraction that revolves around a box that’s tightly wrapped in chains and locks. Legend has it that the box contained the remains of a legendary female vampire.
