Acton Arboretum

The Acton Arboretum is a 56 acre property which in the early 1900’s housed an apple orchard but which was turned into an arboretum in the 80’s. Its natural features include an esker, a moraine, a pond, and a small stream. It has several trails in its varied terrain and is planted with trees and shrubs which thrive in zone 6, many of which were donated by the Arnold Arboretum director who retired to Acton in the 80’s and by generous local landscapers. Acton center on Main St., route 27. Exit for it noted on route 2.
