Overview: Lowell Memorial Auditorium and the Luna Theater are partnering to present a free screening of the 1973 rock documentary “Jimi Hendrix”.

What: This early rock documentary, released only three years after Hendrix’s passing, captures the six-string legend at the height of his live prowess. Featuring contemporary interviews from Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Lou Reed, Pete Townshend, and more, “Jimi Hendrix” is a must-see for any music fan and guitar aficionado. The evening begins at 7:15pm, when rock historian and Vinyl Destination record store owner Dave Perry will reflect on the times and legacy of Rolling Stone Magazine’s #1 all-time guitar player, followed by a screening of the film at 7:35pm.
