Holiday Lights

Holiday Lights Fest

November 30 at 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Want to get outside and into the holiday spirit right after Thanksgiving? Head over to Good Pickin’ Farm on November 30 for their Holiday Lights Fest. Admission includes a “live manger” petting zoo, hayrides with cozy blankets, meet-and-greets with Santa and the Grinch, live music, and beautiful holiday lights and displays.

City of Lights

November 30 at 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm

An annual tradition in downtown Lowell, City of Lights 2024 is a spectacular holiday event you won’t want to miss. This family-friendly gathering welcomes the holiday season with a parade which ushers in the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Watch as City Hall, JFK Plaza, and more are lit up with festive lights, then go on to vote in the annual hot chocolate and window decorating contests.

Yuletide Ball

December 7 at 5:30 – 9:00 pm

Do you ever dream of attending a 19th century holiday party like the ones in A Christmas Carol or The Nutcracker? Join the Footwork & Frolick Society in bringing the holiday traditions with the Yuletide Ball at Groton Grange Hall. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into the past as you join fellow revelers with a candlelit walk as you sing carols, are taught traditional dances, and wear your midwinter best.

A Christmas Carol

December 11 – December 29

Watching a live performance of A Christmas Carol at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre is a holiday treat for the entire family. Experience Charles Dickens’ timeless story of redemption and the meaning of Christmas featuring beloved characters like Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the three ghosts. Spooky, heartwarming, and joyful with a touch of Lowell lore, it’s the perfect way to recapture the spirit of Christmas.

Holiday Pops!

December 6 at 7:30 pm & December 8 at 3 pm

The holidays are often ushered in by the sound of festive and melodious tunes filling the air. Every year, the Greater Lowell Symphonic Orchestra puts on their Holiday POPS! concerts explore a different facet of this most wonderful time of the year. Celebrate the magic of the holidays with a community-based, professional orchestra. The concert features the Lexington Children’s Chorus and Santa Claus as a special guest.

A Holiday Celebration by the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra

December 7 at 2:00 pm

Inspiring the Greater Lowell community with quality classical performances since 1987, the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra presents an incredible holiday concert that gives you that truly magical feeling. The orchestra will play select pieces from The Nutcracker, Amahl & the Night Visitors, and Olivia, the Witch, and the Christmas Tree. There will also be guest appearances by vocalist Ana Bialsky and the Mill City Santa.
