ART FERRIER PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION AT TREMONTE PIZZERIA

Artist Reception: Thursday, February 16, 6 – 8 PM

Exhibit Runs: Through April 20, 2017

Lowell, MA: Middlesex Community College adjunct professor and community arts organizer, Mary Hart, is pleased to announce an exhibition of photography by Art Ferrier, on view through April 20, 2017 at TreMonte Pizzeria Restaurant and Ice Bar in downtown Lowell.

The images in this exhibit are impressions from memorable 10-day visit to Italy in 2009, when the Ferrier participated in the Florence Biennale.

Ferrier, a Lowell native, has been a fine art and commercial photographer since the late 1970s.  He’s been creating strong, vivid images from the world as he sees it, with the true subjects of his work being light, color, and geometry. As a photographer, he takes inspiration from mainly painters, from Edward Hopper to Mark Rothko.

Ferrier says that he “seeks to open people’s eyes and minds to the extraordinary in the ordinary, and the profound beauty that lies all around us if we take the time to look closely.”

Curator Mary Hart says, “With vibrant color and beautiful composition, Art’s work opens new windows to world vistas.”

An opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 16 from 6-8 PM and the exhibit runs through April 20, 2017. The works of art hang throughout the restaurant and in the upstairs function room.

Art currently resides in Nashua, NH and works out of Studio #503 at Western Ave. Studios in Lowell.

TreMonte Pizzeria Restaurant and Ice Bar is located at 44 Palmer Street in downtown Lowell.  It is open 7 days a week from 11:30 AM to 10 PM on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, until 10:30 PM on Wednesday and Thursday, and until 11PM on Friday and Saturday.

About Mary Hart:  Mary Hart is a Lowell resident who is active in community arts, an Arts League of Lowell artist, an artist member of the Gates Block Studios and an adjunct professor in the art department at Middlesex Community College.
