December Offerings at Lowell National Historical Park
Lowell, MA — The popular series of family programs at Lowell National Historical Park, Hands on History and Your City Saturdays, return this December on Saturday afternoons, December 9 and 16 – giving you plenty of opportunities for fun in downtown!
Connect, Create, and Discover!
Lowell National Historical Park and the Tsongas Industrial History Center present hands-on workshops for everyone to come and experience history by doing! Bring the whole family down to the Boott Cotton Mills at 115 John St, Hands On History will explore the art of weaving. Try your hand at weaving and see what you can create. Activities are appropriate for all ages. Join us Saturday, December 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
On Saturday, December 16, Your City Saturdays, returns with Story Explores with Project Learn. Project LEARN (Lowell Educational Alliance Resource Network) develops and supports innovative programs that prepare students with the skills they need to succeed and become life-long learners.
Come by to create opportunities for hands-on, mind-on learning and fun. Join us from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the National Park Visitor Center, 246 Market Street, Lowell. Free parking is at 304 Dutton Street parking lot.
These Saturday afternoon events are free.
With December approaching, park hours beginning November26 are as follows:
National Park Visitor Center: Open Daily, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 246 Market St (free parking at 304 Dutton St).
Boott Cotton Mills Museum: Open seven days, Monday-Friday: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 115 John Street.
Mill Girls and Immigrants Exhibit: Open Wednesday-Sunday: 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. 40 French St.
During the Christmas and New Year’s Week, from December 26 to 31, 2017, hours are Visitor Center: Open Daily, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Boott Cotton Mills Museum: Open Daily, 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Mill Girls and Immigrants Exhibit: Open Daily: 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
