National Engineers Week

What: Celebrate National Engineers Week with some everyday engineering fun! Join Discovery Museum to construct and create with repurposed and recycled materials.

Engineer a Bird Feeder
Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17
Drop-in 11:00am – 2:00pm
Can you design your own bird feeder from the materials provided? Engineer a bird feeder and hang it in Discovery Woods for the birds, or bring it home to feed your feathered friends in your own back yard!
Balls & Ramps 
Monday, February 18 and Tuesday, February 19
Drop-in 11:00am – 2:00pm
Design, build and test out some simple tracks and mini-roller coasters. Make straightaways, loop-da-loops and hills out of tubing and cardboard to send marbles and golf balls on a thrilling ride.
Indoor Fort Building
Wednesday, February 20 and Thursday, February 21
Drop-in 11:00am – 2:00pm
What can you do with clothespins, sheets, and cardboard boxes? Just about anything! Jump in and help build an ever-changing, room-sized blanket fort.
Straw Structures
Friday, February 22
Drop-in 11:00am – 2:00pm
We’ll explore and create shapes and structures with the help of just straws and pipe cleaners. The materials are simple, the possibilities are endless!
SailMobiles
Saturday, February 23
Drop-in 11:00am – 2:00pm
Is it a car? Is it a sailboat? Design a way to harness the power of wind as you construct a simple vehicle that’s part car, part sailboat!
