Free Family Fun this summer at

Lowell National Historical Park 

Lowell, MA – Lowell, MA — The National Park Service turns 100 years old on August 25, 2016! In celebration of the centennial, the park has a whole summer full of free family offerings. Our popular series of family programs, Your City Summer, returns to your neighborhood national park, the Lowell Summer Music Series offers “Free Fun For Kids” and the ever-popular, Mill and Trolley tours gets you riding the rails in downtown Lowell.  School is out and our offerings will continue through September 5 – giving you plenty of opportunities for fun in downtown!

Join us at Your City Summer on Saturdays from 11AM-12PM at the Park Visitor Center, at 246 Market Street, Lowell, MA. Our free parking for visitors is located at 304 Dutton Street, Lowell, MA. Although Your City Summer programs are offered on a free, drop-in basis, families should arrive by 11AM and plan to participate for the complete hour. Activities are geared for families with children ages 4-11, but all are welcome! Please note that there will be no Your City Summer activity on Saturday July 30th due to the Lowell Folk Festival.
 
Beginning July 6th, visit Boarding House Park for Art in the Park: Family Crafts and Concerts

Wednesdays and Thursdays 10 AM-12 PM (from July 6-August 11, except for July 27-28)

Boarding House Park, 40 French Street. Art in the Park is offered as a part of the Lowell Summer Music Series Free Fun for Kids! offerings with scheduled performers at www.lowellsummermusic.org.

Mill and TrolleyTour. Our 90-minute ranger-guided tour to Suffolk Mill River Transformed exhibit, via trolley. Tour departs at 2:30 PM – availability of tours varies by season. Call 978-970-5000 to make reservations and find out the departure location.
 

Boott Cotton Mills Museum is Fee Free for National Park Service Birthday Weekend and Founders’ Day from Thursday, August 25 through Sunday, August 28. The museum is open 7 days a week from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
