If you’re a music-lover, you’re in luck this April. Merrimack Valley’s loaded events calendar features several special musical events that you won’t want to miss. Whether you love rock, indie, or classical, there’s something going on this month that will appeal to your music tastes.

A New Play with Old Music

The right musical can invoke a lifelong love for the theater, and The Porch on Windy Hill could very well be that play. It’s the story of a bi-racial Korean classical violinist, Mira, and her music history grad-student boyfriend, Beck, escaping months of Covid-isolation to the mountains of North Carolina. There they meet Edgar, and Mira faces a flood of memory, pain, hope, and discovery. It’s a moving, modern American play about family with a talented cast performing a dozen traditional and bluegrass gems.

The Porch on Windy Hill will be showing every night at 7 pm from April 3-21 at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre. Ticket prices generally range from $15-$46.

Perks of Seeing the Wallflowers

Go to Cary Hall for a chance to experience the mid-90s revival of roots-rock. The Wallflowers ruled the airwaves with hits including “One Headlight,” “6th Avenue Heartache” and “The Difference,” and you’ll be able to hear them live. It’s been nine years since Dylan, the founding singer, songwriter, and guitarist, has performed with the band, but the Wallflowers have reunited and returned to the stage.

The Wallflowers will be playing on Sunday, April 14th at 7:30 pm. Tickets range from $49-$99.

The Ultimate Tribute to the Beatles

Do you love classic rock? Are you a Beatles fanatic? Then you can’t afford to miss The Fab Four – Beatles Tribute. This Emmy Award Winning group is the closest you can get to seeing the real Beatles without building a time machine. With dramatic costume changes and uncanny, note-for-note live renditions of classics like “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Yesterday,” “A Day In The Life,” “Twist And Shout,” “Here Comes The Sun,” and “Hey Jude,” the Fab Four is a stellar tribute to one of the most iconic bands in history.

You can see The Fab Four – Beatles Tribute on April 20 at 8 pm at Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Tickets range from $29-$59.

Classic Rock You Love

Taffeta Music Hall is known for having great live music, and April delivers one of the best. Come rock out to Rumboat Chili, an original, classic rock inspired band from Southern New Hampshire. They play original songs as well as classic covers you know and love!

Rumboat Chili will be playing on Saturday, April 20th at 8 pm. General admission is $12.

Don’t miss out on experiencing some of Merrimack’s most captivating musical performances this April.
