After inlduging in your Thanksgiving dinner and reflecting on all you have to be thankful for this holiday season, head to Downtown Lowell this Saturday, November 26th for a day filled of festivities at the annual City of Lights Parade and Holiday Celebration. From noon to 7pm, Downtown Lowell will welcome the holiday season with over a dozen events for all ages. The Gingerbread House Trail will kick off on Saturday, November 26th during the City of Lights Parade and Holiday Celebration and will be on display until Saturday, December 3rd at each participating business. Each unique and handmade Gingerbread House will be decked out for the holidays by employees of the local businesses with materials both edible & inedible and will be vying for the coveted awards of the “most delicious”, “most inventive” and “most true to the business”.
To follow along the trail, “Gingerbread Trail” maps will be available for visitors to pick up at all participating sites as well as the Lowell National Park Visitor Center. Use this map to locate each house, which will be decorated in a variety of styles and relive the delights of childhood as you peek into the windows of these creations. Participating businesses in this year’s trail include Gates Block Artists, Arts League of Lowell, Red Antler Apothecary, Cobblestones, Humanity Boutique, Little Delights Bakery, Bishop’s Legacy Restaurant, Rosie’s Café, The Social Pup, Tutto Bene Wine and Cheese, Z Gallery, Allura Salon & Spa and the Brush Gallery. A sweet treat awaits those who visit each Gingerbread house, so be sure to pick up your trail map and go!
P.S. Don’t miss the parade which kicks off on Jackson Street to City Hall beginning at 4:30pm, where own on Deb Belanger will be the Grand Marshal!
