While the snowy days of winter may not be everyone’s favorite time of the year, many can’t wait for the first snowflake to hit the ground, meaning it’s time to hit the slopes!
While we could all use a trip up to New Hampshire’s white mountains, it’s not always the most convenient option. Fortunately, we have our own ski area right here in the Merrimack Valley, the Nashoba Valley Ski Area. So, today, let’s take a deeper look at our local ski area and everything it has to offer.
Things To Do At Nashoba Valley Ski Area
Ski And Snowboarding Trails
Let’s start with the main attraction – skiing and snowboarding, of course! When Nashoba Valley is in full operation, it features 17 trails to explore, available 7 days/nights a week on a 100% lit terrain. The trails are also accessible for many riders, ranging in difficulties. About 20% of the trails are beginner-friendly, 50% intermediate, and 30% for advanced skiers or snowboarders. In addition, trails are marked by their difficulty so that you always know what’s appropriate for you or your family members’ skill levels.
Snow Tubing Park
Not quite interested in skiing or snowboarding? Nashoba Valley’s snow tubing park is a family-friendly activity that everyone can enjoy. In fact, it’s the largest snow tubing park in New England! The park features 18 exclusive snow tubing lanes maintained regularly by Nashoba’ grooming fleet. There are also 4 lifts to bring you to the top of the hill. To participate, children must be 6 years of age or 42’ tall. Nashoba Valley also provides tubes as personal tubes are not allowed.
Racing Events
Nashoba Valley hosts plenty of special racing events and activities throughout the season, typically made for advanced riders. These events include the Vertical Challenge, the Snow Challenge, and even Adult Team Racing & Championships. Whether you come to these events as a participant or spectator, you are sure to have an excellent time.
Take Lessons
The Nashoba Valley Ski Area is a perfect place to learn or master your skiing and snowboarding skills. In fact, visitors can even join one of the ski area’s skiing and snowboarding lessons. Lesson programs, led by experienced instructors, are available for ages 3-17. In addition, group and private lessons are offered, alongside adaptive programs, 6-week student courses, junior race training, adult lessons, and more.
Grab A Bite
Nashoba Valley also features an on-site restaurant to grab a bite between or after hitting the slopes. A day or even just a few hours of skiing can surely make both children and adults alike hungry! Visitors are welcome to stop by the Outlook Restaurant and browse their menu of appetizers, burgers, seafood, pasta, and more. In addition, the tubing also has a sight lodge and snack bar, complete with beer, wine, and spirits.
