JENNIFER CARLAND EXHIBIT AT MANDARIN ASIAN BISTRO
Artist Reception: Sunday, Oct. 2, 4-6 PM
Exhibit Runs: Sept. 2 – Oct. 31, 2016
Lowell, MA: Middlesex Community College adjunct professor and community arts organizer, Mary Hart, is pleased to announce an exhibition of art, Jennifer Carland, on view from Sept. 2 through Oct. 31, 2016, at downtown Lowell’s Mandarin Asian Bistro.
An artist reception is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 2, from 4 to 6 PM at the restaurant.
Jennifer Carland creates abstract drawings of street maps that explore the psychological connection between personal identity and location. Carland believes that people love to talk about where they grew up, where they have lived and visited. Her maps are created as an illustration of one’s personalized story rather than a simple way finding tool.
The exhibit is part of a continuing art series hosted by Mandarin Asian Bistro and curated by Mary Hart.
Mandarin Asian Bistro, a Chinese food and Sushi restaurant, is located at 24 Market Street in downtown Lowell.
About Mary Hart: Mary Hart is a Lowell resident, an artist member of the Arts League of Lowell, the founder of Downtown Lowell First Thursdays and an adjunct professor in the art department at Middlesex Community College.
