July Programs at Minute Man National Historical Park

Concord, MA.  July events at Minute Man National Historical Park are well underway.  Take time out from your busy schedule and join us for the opportunity to take a hike with a combat artist,  celebrate the wedding anniversary of  Nathaniel and Sophia Hawthorne, and experience the world  of a British soldier.

The British Redcoat
Why were the Regulars in Massachusetts? Why did they come to Concord? What happened on April 19, 1775 from the perspective of the King’s Army? Join Park Ranger Roger Fuller to explore the answers to these questions.

Abigail Adams: Life, Love, Letters
Join Abigail Adams as she reflects on her courtship and marriage, and love in wartime. Abigail Adams will be portrayed by actress and historian Patricia Bridgman of the Guild of Historic Interpreters at Minute Man National Historical Park.

Amos Doolittle – Combat Artist
In the aftermath of April 19, 1775, Amos Doolittle, a soldier from Connecticut, created images of the event to record these scenes for posterity. Join Park Ranger Roger Fuller for a fifty-minute walking tour of the Concord combat area through the eyes of Amos Doolittle. The tour will gather in Concord center at the base of Concord’s Old Hill Burying Ground, located next to St. Bernard’s Church, and conclude at North Bridge.

Colonial Justice
What crimes came before the local Magistrate in the early 1770s? Come to Hartwell Tavern and meet the Magistrate and the Constable as well as a motley group of offenders (portrayed by the Guild of Historic Interpreters). Will the defendents the fined, sentenced to community service, or be exonerated? You will have a say in the matter!
