Description: The 2018 edition of the Lowell Folk Festival is taking shape and ready to rock the city from July 27-29. It will feature five different performance stages and several other attractions, such as a family activity area, Art in the Courtyard, and Destination Lowell, which will feature about a dozen local organizations and vendors. Oh yeah, and there will be food … lots and lots of food!
Friday, July 27: The festival will kickoff on Friday night with the traditional parade at 6:30 p.m. Live music will start at 7:15 p.m. at both Boarding House Park and the Dutton St. Dance Pavilion. Entertainment will go until 10:15 p.m. View the complete Friday schedule.
Saturday, July 28: Music performances on Saturday will begin at 12:00 p.m. and take place throughout the day across all five stages with the final performance ending at 10:30 p.m. Visitors will find an expanded selection of additional attractions with the family activity area open from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. Art in the Courtyard will start up on Saturday, and the B&M Locomotive #410 and Combine will be open for visitors at the Dutton Street Trolley Stop from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. View the complete Saturday schedule.
Sunday, July 29: Performances will again kickoff at 12:00 p.m. across the five stages and wrap up by 6:15 p.m. There will be a similar offering of additional attractions for fans of all ages. View the complete Sunday schedule.
Food: The ethnic variety of cuisine offerings at the festival is routinely one of the biggest attractions for visitors. Among others, this year the festival is expecting Greek, Polish, Asian, Latin, and Burmese food options. There will be no one to blame but yourself if you go hungry during the weekend!
