Women’s History Hike

South Common, Corner of Thorndike and Summer Streets
Visit unique locations in Lowell where women’s suffrage activists gave lectures, held open air meetings, and advocated for their cause. Join us to learn about the suffrage movement in the Spindle City.
Hands-On History: Weaving and Women’s Rights Family Program
Sunday, August 25th, 1-4 p.m.
Boott Cotton Mills Museum
Try your hand at weaving and learn more about the fight for women’s voting rights during the this free drop-in program.
Women’s Equality Day Community Conversation: Voting Rights and Activism in Lowell, 1851-Present.
Monday, August 26th, 6 p.m.
Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center
Celebrate the anniversary of the 19th Amendment, and women gaining the right to vote, with our panel of local voting activists. Learn about the history of suffragist Lowell mill girls and how the conversation on voter access has continued to grow.
