Lowell Women’s Week presents: Suffragette Film Screening and Discussion

Tuesday, March 1st, 7:00pm-9:00pm

Lowell, MA. Join us for a film screening and discussion of the 2015 film Suffragette, at the Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. The event is free and no reservations are necessary. Free parking is available at the Visitor Center parking lot at 304 Dutton Street.

About the film-

Academy Award nominees Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter, and three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep, lead the cast of a powerful drama about the women who were willing to lose everything in their fight for equality in early 20th-century Britain. The stirring story centers on Maud (played by Carey Mulligan), a working wife and mother whose life is forever changed when she is secretly recruited to join the U.K.’s growing suffragette movement.

The film screening is part of Lowell Women’s Week, a celebration of women, past and present, in the community of Lowell. Visit  www.lowellwomensweek.org for more information and a complete schedule of events.
