Merrimack Valley Breweries to Visit This Fall

There is no better time to sample ale, beer, and ciders from New England breweries than fall. Merrimack Valley has a selection of exceptional breweries that serve award-winning beers and seasonal favorites alike. Whether you’re planning a night out with friends or a toast for someone special, we’ve got a great list of Merrimack Valley breweries to visit this fall.

True West Brewing

If you want hand-crafted beer made sustainably, True West Brewing deliciously delivers. From classic styles of beer like their award-winning Ruckus! IPA and the HaCzech Bohemian Pilsner to seasonal and on-off beers, you’re sure to find the brew that lets you experience true local flavor. They pair great with the cuisine they cook up in the scratch kitchen. The ingredients are sourced from local farmers, fishermen, and producers and the kitchen makes everything from the breads to the dressings.

Sustainability is a big part of what makes this brewery special. True West brews their beer with hops, grains, water, and sunlight. We’re not joking – they use solar energy to power the brewery’s chiller, pumps, compressor, lights, and control units. So the golden sunshine outside helps create the golden beer in your glass!

Navigation Brewing Company

Fans of art and beer are in luck with Navigation Brewing Company. Connected to the Western Ave Studios, which is Lowell’s premier artist community, it’s a fantastic place to hang out and discuss art after visiting the studios and gallery. Kids and dogs are just as welcome as well-behaved adults, so it’s a hangout spot for everyone Thursday through Sunday!

Of course, as fun as it is to hang out, you’re here for the beer. They continually rotate their brewing schedule and tap list, so you’ll always find something new to try. Depending on the season and the brewers’ inspiration, you’ll find specialty ales that you’re sure to love. You can get samples, a flight, 16 oz pour, growler fill, or cans-to-go of these amazing beers. And if you’re really interested, you can ask one of the friendly staff for the two-minute tour of the brewery!

Rapscallion Table & Tap

Few things go better with craft beer than artisanal food, and Rapscallion Table & Tap offers both. Pair seasonal, hand-brewed beers with seasonal dishes made from scratch. As fall is known for incredible, freshly-harvested food, there’s no better time of year to come out. You’ll feel even more down-to-earth while seated in the historic farmhouse by one of the hearths.

You can’t go wrong with the selection of beers on tap or in the can. Try one of the mainstays like the honey ale, Belgian blonde, New England IPA, or even the non-alcoholic root beer that’s made with local wildflower honey and pure maple syrup. But don’t miss out on the incredible selection of seasonal brews that rotate throughout the year. You might find the perfect beverage that gives you that authentic, New England fall feeling.

Whether you’re planning a night out with friends or just looking to get out and drink with the community, there are some great Merrimack breweries to visit this fall. Have fun, and be sure to drink responsibly.
