STEVE SWEENEY
|Born in Charlestown, Steve Sweeney is a legendary Boston comedian known as a master of dialects and character voices. With his famous Boston accent and great insight into human nature, Steve is so thoroughly Bostonian that he merits his own stop on the MBTA Green Line.
Steve learned his craft at the world famous Ding Ho Comedy Club, where he performed with Lenny Clarke, Denis Leary, Jay Leno, and more. Well-rounded and seasoned, Steve has kept audiences laughing for years. He won his status, the old-fashioned way – he earned it!
He has been a featured on major television shows including David Letterman, Evening at the Improv, Comics Come Home, and Comedy Central, and starred in his own Boston-based sitcom, Park Street Under.
Steve’s trademark political satire has earned him top host spots on Boston radio stations 100.7FM WZLX (Sweeney’s Neighborhood) and 95.9FM WATD (Jay Mohr and Opie & Anthony.) In addition, Steve is an elite Master of Ceremonies selected by many charitable and political organizations (of both parties, but separately, of course!)
JIMMY DUNN
Jimmy Dunn is an actor and stand-up comedian from Boston, who recently co-starred on the CBS comedy “The McCarthys” as Sean McCarthy.
He got his start in the comedy world telling jokes at a bar in Gloucester, Massachusetts, where he was paid in beer and fried clams. Since then, Jimmy has gone on to perform at some of the comedy industry’s most prestigious events, including Denis Leary’s Comics Come Home, Montreal’s International Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and the Late Show with David Letterman.
TONY V
Tony V started his stand-up comedy career in 1982 after attending several shows at Boston’s prestigious Comedy Connection. He wandered in one night, quite by accident, looking for a little stress relief from a high pressure job as a caseworker at the Somerville Mental Health Center. Tony was working his way toward a Masters degree in social work having graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a B. S. in Psychology. It was not long after that he took to the stage himself. Tony’s street wise humor tempered with a genuine feel for the human condition quickly propelled him to headliner status on the national comedy club circuit.
In 1986 Tony V was named “Funniest Person in Massachusetts” by Showtime television. He followed this achievement with several performances on HBO, the Arts and Entertainment Network, Comedy Central and MTV. From 1987 through 1992 Tony V became the “spokesperson” for American Tourister Luggage. Remember the suitcase smashing gorilla? It was Tony that gave the ape it’s distinct voice and temperament. Touring extensively in and out of his high tech forty-five thousand dollar yak hair gorilla suit, both Tony and his alter ego had many interesting adventures. If you get a chance ask Tony about a meeting between The Gorilla, Spuds MacKenzie and Ronald McDonald. You won’t believe your mind.
JOE YANNETTY
A seasoned professional, comedian Joe Yannetty draws on his travels, his Italian heritage, family situations and Boston blue-collar upbringing to bring family-oriented comedy to audiences around the world. Yannetty has been a guest on dozens of television shows, and has headlined around the world. Joe has also appeared at CAESAR’S PALACE in Las Vegas, RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL in New York City, and the KENNEDY CENTER in Washington DC.
Joe’s career began at the DING HO, a comedy club and Chinese food restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Later, after quickly conquering the comedy club scene in New York City Joe brought his gift to Los Angeles and quickly became a regular performer at all of the top clubs on the west coast. Joe has also made a name for himself entertaining at Corporate meetings, events, and private parties. Yannetty has written for and toured with Rosie O’Donnell. He also spent some time as a morning show personality, writer, and producer on two of Boston’s top ten rated radio stations. He was featured in a segment on the television show 20/20 regarding his appearance on Ed MacMahon’s TV show STAR SEARCH where Joe was victorious over the now famous Drew Carey. The HBO movie SUCKERS, a motion picture Yannetty wrote and appears in, is based on a part of his own life. It has been distributed worldwide, and is constantly aired on major cable stations. In October of 2001 it was awarded the Premiere Video Award for Best Screenplay. In 2004 he took to the seas. Joe Yannetty quickly became one of the most popular comedians on the world’s largest and most prestigious cruise lines.
