Stephen Clements Exhibition at TreMonte Pizzeria Restaurant and Bar

Lowell, MA: Art organizer Mary Hart is pleased to announce an exhibition of paintings by Stephen Clements, on display at TreMonte Pizzeria Restaurant and Bar in downtown Lowell now through October 31, 2017.
The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception on Thursday, September 14, from 6-8 PM at TreMonte. Light refreshments will be provided.
Stephen Clements’ passion has always been music and it wasn’t until 2011 that he began to paint. Now the two artistic mediums peacefully co-exist, he believes, while both vie for his time, attention and imagination. “I create paintings in the same manner as I attempt to live; in the moment,” he says.
Mary Hart, curator of the show, says, “Steve’s vibrant, expressive work has the effect of a major song hook, which isn’t surprising because he is also an accomplished musician. His fearless use of paint in layers and thick globs combines with his direct images to grab you by the throat. You might wish to step into this chaotic world he has created because it looks like so much fun!”
Clements has exhibited in several galleries around the Lowell area, in both group and solo shows. He works out of his home studio in Chelmsford.
TreMonte Pizzeria Restaurant and Bar is located at 112 Middle Street in downtown Lowell. It opens at 11:30 AM daily and closes at 10 PM on Sunday – Tuesday, 10:30 PM Wednesday and Thursday and 11 PM on Friday and Saturday.
Mary Hart is a Lowell resident, an artist member of the Arts League of Lowell (ALL), the founder of Downtown Lowell First Thursdays, and an adjunct professor in the art department at Middlesex Community College.
