The Lowell Summer Music Series continues its 29th Season this week:

Free Admission. Wacky Chad’s award winning pogo stick skills, charmingly funny jokes and antics got him on America’s Got Talent (twice!), and a performance at the Superbowl. 

Red Trouser Show on  Thursday, August 2 at 10am  at the Free Fun For Kids series with free art activities, natural snacks, stage show and trolley rides for all. More info at http://www.lowellsummermusic.org/kids. Free Admission. An amazing, eye-poppingly brilliant physical performance from this internationally trained and toured duo will leave you in awe!  

The Revivalists on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 7:30 pm. After 10 years on the road, the New Orleans-based septet The Revivalists scored a game-changing hit with “Wish I Knew You,” a wistful song from their third album. Their name heralds their hometown’s rebounding from the devastation of Katrina. Peter Cetera on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 7:30pm.  Cetera became known as the lead singer of the group Chicago and later for his solo hits. Blues Traveler on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 7:30pm as part of its 30th Anniversary Tour.  Their biggest hits are “Run Around” and “But Anyway.” More info at http://www.bluestraveler.com.  Advance tickets are $36 and premium seats immediately in front of the stage are $136.

38th Annual Banjo & Fiddle Contest on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Workshops at 10am, Jam Sessions at 11am, and Contests from noon to 6pm. No admission or registration fee to compete. All players welcome!

Benkadi Drum & Dance on Wednesday, August 8 at 10am at the Free Fun For Kids series with free art activities, natural snacks, stage show and trolley rides for all. More info at http://www.lowellsummermusic.org/kids. Free Admission. B enkadi (which means “Coming Together Sweetly” in the Bamanankan language of Mali) is an eclectic group of artists and educators dedicated to performing and teaching African dance and musical forms.  

Magic of Robert Clarke on  Thursday, August 9 at 10am at the Free Fun For Kids series with free art activities, natural snacks, stage show and trolley rides for all. More info at http://www.lowellsummermusic.org/kids. Free Admission. Boston magician juggler Robert Clarke has the uncanny ability to capture the young and old with his fun filled family show.

Matt Heaton & The Outside Toys on Wednesday, August 15 at 10am  at the Free Fun For Kids series with free art activities, natural snacks, stage show and trolley rides for all. More info at http://www.lowellsummermusic.org/kids. Free Admission. Matt Heaton believes music for kids can be entertaining for both children AND parents. His songs are a mix of rockabilly, surf, American roots and Irish traditional music, delivered with a wry sense of humor and a sincere sense of fun. 

The Stupendous Mr. Magichead on  Thursday, August 16 at 10am  at the Free Fun For Kids series with free art activities, natural snacks, stage show and trolley rides for all. More info at http://www.lowellsummermusic.org/kids. Free Admission. Mr. Magichead has achieved master status among kid’s entertainers, with a wild & wacky magic show! 

The Series

The 2018 Season of the Lowell Summer Music Series is its 29th year of presenting national recording artists in a beautiful outdoor setting near an historic textile mill and boardinghouse. Known as Boarding House Park, it is located at 40 French Street, Downtown Lowell, MA, right in front of the Lowell National Historical Park’s Boott Cotton Mills Museum. Patrons bring lawn chairs and blankets to view the show from the lawn.  Premium Seating provides a chair in the first few rows right in front of the stage.  The Series features 16 evening concerts. VIP Parking is available on a limited basis in the lot closest to the venue entrance for just $27. The Series benefits from a portion of the income.
