Winter can often be mistaken for a time of the year when there’s nothing to do and nowhere to go. This is untrue in Merrimack Valley, as we have a whole calendar filled with local activities and events for February. From hockey games to Lowell Winterfest, you’ll find lots of fun things to do this month.

Or you can watch the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s Boston franchise play home games featuring the best women’s hockey players in the world. Pick your seat, buy your ticket, and get ready to cheer on the home team with thousands of fellow hockey fans.

Enjoy creative activities for kids and play giant games. Shop for arts and crafts, fashion, and specialty foods from local vendors at the Lowell Market. Warm up and fill up your belly with the Soup Bowl Competition where you can taste soups from local restaurants and vote for your favorite. It’s a great way to celebrate all Lowell has to offer!
Sunday Brunch at the Westford Regency
Want something classy and fun to do on a Sunday? Book a brunch with family and friends at the Westford Regency Inn & Conference Center. They’ve brought back their popular Sunday brunch so you can plan a delicious and decadent late-morning meal. Enjoy cooked-to-order omelets and Belgian waffles, smoked salmon, fresh tropical fruit, pastries, and more. No room booking at the hotel is necessary – you can just book the brunch.
Live Belly Dancing Shows
The Athenian Corner Restaurant in Lowell is a fabulous Greek restaurant that brings you daily lunch specials, mouthwatering dinner entrees, and live entertainment on the weekends. On Saturdays, you can come in and enjoy live Greek and Middle Eastern music and belly dancing. You’ll be entranced by the hypnotic music and movements as you dine on the largest variety of fine Greek food in New England. Enjoy stuffed grape leaves, lamb shish-ke-bob, spanakopita, and more. It’s a fantastic place for a night out, whether with a date, with friends or on your own.
Ceramics at Refuge Art School
Have you ever wanted to learn how to make ceramics? On February 10th and 24th, you can take a ceramics class at the Refuge Art School held at Western Avenue | Studios and Lofts in Lowell. Focusing on hand building, students will learn how to build forms with techniques like pinch pots, slab building, and coil building. You’ll make both functional and sculptural works of art you can be proud of. When you’re done, bring home and show off to your family and friends.
