Unplug At Angelina’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria

With so many great restaurants in the Merrimack Valley, I do my best to get out and support various members when dining out. Every restaurant either has a dish that I call my “signature favorite” or a certain beverage that I enjoy.

My latest dining experience was at Angelina’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria in Tewksbury. I absolutely knew what I was ordering before I even got there. I was dining with my girlfriend, Kathleen Plath, owner of both Moonstones and Cobblestones. Let me tell you, Kathy knows her food and her wine. This was Kathy’s first visit to Angelina’s and it won’t be her last (next time, we may even bring our husbands). The atmosphere is divine and the wait staff along with Susan Amato ,the owner, treat everyone like family. And it’s no surprise either. Susan Amato named the restaurant after her Grandmother, Angelina. All the pictures in the restaurant capture the love of their family and many of the menu items are from family recipes from the region of Italy where their family is from, Bolognano and Abruzzo. They also feature wine from the same village. And being a Wednesday night, we were able to enjoy their Wine Down Wednesday promotion, when all glasses of wine are half off. Kathy and I spent over three hours catching up and enjoying our meals. My favorite dish at Angelina’s is the Chicken Elissa. It is Chicken pan fried with panko breadcrumbs, sautéed in a garlic cream sauce with spinach and sun-dried tomato. My mouth is watering as I type this.

I highly recommend a visit and bring the whole family because if you dine on Thursday, that’s “family night” (no cell phones are allowed) all pizza’s and a selection of pasta entrées are half off. So go unplug for a while and enjoy time with your family and friends. You will be glad you did!

Until next time,

Deb .
