Lowell MA- The Brush Art Gallery and Studios is proud to exhibit the work of two studio artists, Steve Noroian and Pamela Wamala. Noroian’s photographic interpretations of Venice during Carnivale provided the luminous starting point for Wamala’s collection of mixed media acrylic paintings and embellished monoprints. Wamala’s “Visioni di Venezia Suite” is a study in contrasts. Some paintings are bold, while others are poetic and subtle. Surface quality ranges from glassy smooth to multi layered and textural. Noroian’s photographs evoke the beauty, bold colors, and distinctive features of Venice. His work, notable for robust colors and striking detail, reveals a hyper-realism that is surrealistic in its impact and serves to complement Wamala’s inspired pieces. Noroian’s images are printed on canvas and treated with a glossy lacquer. Both artists have been at the Brush for over ten years.
Noroian combines the latest in digital techniques with traditional photography to create bold and evocative prints. With an eye towards abstraction, he works to capture the beauty of his surroundings through strong composition and brilliant color. His work reveals his passion for landscapes, architecture, and still life photography – capturing the essential elements of New England and Europe.
Pamela Wamala’s creative vision is guided by a delight for connecting to her observations of nature. She expresses her “painting voice” through interpretations of natural wonder—the mood of the sky, dance of the sea, light on the land. Travel and daily life fuel Wamala’s imagination. Color, light and composition capture her attention, beginning each new journey.

The Brush Art Gallery and Studios is located in the Lowell National Historical Park across the courtyard from the Visitor Center. This dynamic and captivating place was originally founded by the Lowell Historic Preservation Commission, U.S. Department of the Interior in 1982. The Brush presents museum quality exhibitions, educational programs, and has collaborated with many other nonprofit groups. Artists occupy studio spaces to interact with and educate the public on a weekly basis. Currently, fourteen studio artists produce paintings, illustration, photography, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, quilts, and handwoven items. Associate artists display work in the common area. The Brush Art Gallery and Studios is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. The Brush is supported by Lowell National Historical Park and Eastern National.
