This year, Wearable Arts Extravaganza II Featuring the Four Elements takes place on May 1st and 2nd in the Onyx Room at Western Avenue. Doors open at 7PM and the show starts at 8PM. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available both evenings. The suggested donation is $20.00 per person $30.00 per couple. Wearable Art Extravaganza II is a remarkable revue by models, drag queens and live performers showcasing extraordinarily creative and outrageous fashion and jewelry designs. The Extravaganza celebrates the concepts of the four elements, Earth, Air, Fire and Water, by integrating clothing, jewelry and accessories with upbeat music, live singers, and hilarious lip synching antics. Mother Nature will also be making a special appearance to keep the show on track.
The event, presented by the Miracle Providers Northeast and the Loading Dock Gallery and promoted by ArtWeek Boston, features creations by artists who work at Western Avenue Studios, an art complex of 240 studios that is also home to the Loading Dock Gallery, Lowell’s largest art gallery, and the Miracle Providers Northeast’s home theatre, The Onyx Room. This is not the first time that the Miracle Providers Northeast and the Loading Dock Gallery have paired up to participate in ArtWeek Boston. Last November, their first Wearable Art Extravaganza show was a sold-out smashing success that raised over $2,000 to support the mission of the nonprofit Miracle Providers Northeast, which helps children affected by HIV and AIDS. The May 1st and 2nd Spring shows this year promise to be even more outrageous and entertaining. Over 70 designers, models, and drag queens have been working together to design fashions to wow the audience. The runway, which extends well into the crowd, offers seating for VIP spectators and allows the spectators to interact with the performers.
