WHIMSICAL IMAGES by Ed Porzio exhibits at Mandarin Asian Bistro

Exhibit: May 1 – July 31, 2017

Reception: Sunday, May 7, 4-6 PM

Lowell, MA:  Art organizer Mary Hart announces “Whimsical Images,” an exhibit of paintings by artist Ed Porzio, on display at the Mandarin Asian Bistro in downtown Lowell from May 1 through July 31, 2017.

The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception on Sunday, May 7, from 4-6 PM at Mandarin Asian Bistro. Light refreshments will be provided.

Although possessing a natural artistic ability as a child, that talent would sit on the back-burner while Ed pursued a 45-year career in architecture.  In 2005, Ed returned to oil painting and as a recent Lowell resident, looks forward to sharing his stylized and whimsical images with the community.

“I simply want to put something beautiful into the world.  I want to splatter my inner vision on a surface. No words, just the music of Art,” says Porzio.

Mary Hart, curator of the show, says, “I love that the paintings have a dreamlike quality, with playful imagery and intriguing texture and color; Ed clearly delights in presenting glimpses of his unique imaginary worlds.”

Ed Porzio has exhibited in numerous galleries throughout New England is a member of the Rockport Association, Experimental Group.  He works out of his Western Avenue studio in Lowell.

Mandarin Asian Bistro features Pan-Asian cuisine, including sushi and is open every day, from 11:30 AM to 10 PM, midnight on the weekend.  It is located at 24 Market Street in downtown Lowell.

Mary Hart is a Lowell resident, an artist member of the Arts League of Lowell (ALL), the founder of Downtown Lowell First Thursdays, and an adjunct professor in the art department at Middlesex Community College.
