In addition to the Grammy accolades, McKenna recently won “Song of the Year” at The 50th Annual CMA Awards for “Humble and Kind.” She is the first songwriter to win the award in consecutive years since Vince Gill (1991-1993) and is the first female songwriter to win back-to-back nods in the history of the CMAs. McKenna is also the first solo songwriter to win the award since 2011. Tickets for Lori McKenna at Cary Memorial Hall in Lexington on Sunday, April 9 at 7pm are $49-$39 and are on sale now at www.caryhalllexington.com or by calling 617-531-1257.

LORI MCKENNA
Nearly a decade since receiving her first album cut through superstar Faith Hill, McKenna is one of the most sought after songwriters in the industry with her songs recorded by top artists including Reba, Alison Krauss, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and Keith Urban. McKenna’s songwriting credits include the 2x Platinum Billboard No. 1 hit, “I Want Crazy,” by Hunter Hayes and radio favorites like Little Big Town’s “Your Side of the Bed” and “Sober.” She penned the 2015 massive Little Big Town hit, “Girl Crush,” which reached 11 weeks on the Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and netted McKenna a CMA Award, NSAI Songwriters and her first Grammy. Billboard recently spotlighted McKenna for bringing the solo songwriter back to No. 1 with her Tim McGraw hit, “Humble and Kind.” The song hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart marking the first time in more than four years a song written by one writer topped the chart.

McKenna also continues to receive widespread critical acclaim for her Grammy-nominated new album, The Bird & The Rifle, which is out now on CN Records via Thirty Tigers. Produced by Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton), the album was recorded live over ten days in Nashville and has received overwhelming critical praise.

NPR Music calls it “one of 2016’s best releases,” while Pitchfork asserts, “one of the most accomplished and devastating singer-songwriter albums of the year,” and The Washington Post declares, “the best-sounding album of McKenna’s 15-year recording career.”
