Janet Leggat

Janet Leggat received a B.S. from UMASS Amherst and her MBA from Rivier College. She started her career working in Childhood and then Adult Nutrition Programs in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Arizona. Her career took a sharp turn when she moved backed to Massachusetts and joined the staff of the Greater Merrimack Valley Convention and Visitor Bureau as a part time Marketing Assistant. She oversaw the development of the Lexington / Concord map, an early map of Downtown Lowell and planned and hosted many FAMs of the entire region. She was also working on the Lowell Folk Festival and moved on to become the full time Executive Director of the Lowell Festival Foundation. In her time of working in the hospitality field, she learned the value of strong partnerships in the success of the Not for Profit enterprise. Although Janet is now the owner of Cruise Holidays and works as a Travel Advisor, she has maintained her ties to the community as a 35-year member of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Lowell (Past President) and a former board member and current Corporator of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lowell. She has remained as an Advisory Board Member of the Lowell Festival Foundation. She is also the former chair of the Lowell Cultural Council.
