Show: Uncommon Connections
Show dates: July 30 – August 31, 2025
Opening Reception: August 2 from 3-5 pm
This show brings together the creative voices of three senior artists—each representing a distinct medium: painting, woodworking, and sculpture. With a lifetime of experiences and shared passion for the arts, these men offer a rich, multidimensional exhibition. Their connection goes beyond the canvas or workshop—they are long-time collaborators and curators at the Loading Dock Gallery. Through their individual works and collective vision, this show celebrates not only their diverse artistic journeys but also the enduring power of community and creativity.
Bruce Wood’s work is imaginative, whimsical, creative and provocative, drawing the viewer into a world of skewed reality and thought. He uses found and recycled items to create unique sculptures.
Neal Emmer’s work displays simple subject matter with forceful detail. He finds content while taking walks, driving, or finding things in thrift stores, at home and in his back yard. He develops a theme and draws or paints the scenarios using pencil on paper or acrylic paint on canvas.
Bob Jones’ passion for woodworking started at a young age. His work is driven by a desire to marry functionality with artistry, creating useful and beautiful objects.
