The Bedford Cultural District’s New Song Music Series welcomes Rob Flax and the Boom Chick Trio on Saturday, October 18.
Award-winning violinist and vocalist Rob Flax leads this genre-blurring trio with irresistible energy and flair. Classically trained but known for his jazz pyrotechnics and soulful vocals, Flax has performed across the globe with artists from B.B. King to Tower of Power, and composed for film, dance, and stage.
This supergroup also includes Noah Harrington and Slava Tolstoy. Hailing from Lexington, MA Harrington, brings deep grooves and rich melodic sensibilities honed through his ensemble, Acoustic Nomads. Tolstoy is a St. Petersburg-born guitarist and producer, is celebrated for his work with the International String Trio, which masterfully blends Gypsy Jazz with global influences.
Tickets are $25 ($20 up to one week prior to the event) and may be purchased at https://newsongbedford.org/, or at the door. Performances are in the Reed Room of Bedford’s Town Hall. Doors open at 6:45 and the music begins at 7:30. A selection of sweet treats and beverages will be available at the event.
