Concord Center Comes Alive with Third Thursdays: A Monthly Celebration of Art, Culture, Shopping, and Dining

Concord, MA — June 10, 2025 — Concord Center is buzzing with excitement with the kick off of the Third Thursdays event series. This Massachusetts neighborhood welcomes locals and visitors alike for art, culture, shopping, and dining. Taking place monthly from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Third Thursdays features over 30 local businesses staying open late with special offerings and experiences.

Just 20 miles west of Boston, Concord Center blends small-town charm with vibrant local culture—where historic architecture, independent shops, and inviting eateries come alive during this monthly celebration of community, creativity, and commerce. Easily reached by commuter rail or highway, it’s the perfect place to stroll, shop, and savor the spirit of Concord. From antiques and fine art to toys, clothing, jewelry, artisan foods, and wine, discover something special on every block.

The upcoming Third Thursday on June 19th features live music and interactive entertainment for all ages. The Maria Frattura Jazz Trio will fill the streets with smooth, sophisticated tunes, creating a perfect atmosphere for an evening out. Families and visitors will also enjoy the surprise appearances of beloved puppeteer Good News Gus, whose whimsical mini-performances will pop up throughout the district, delighting audiences of all ages.

In addition to extended hours at shops, galleries, and eateries, visitors can enjoy sidewalk games, chalk art, and hands-on arts activities. Participating businesses will offer unique in-store experiences and pop-up events—making Third Thursdays a standout event on Concord’s summer calendar.

Third Thursdays in Concord Center is presented by the Town of Concord in partnership with the Concord Chamber of Commerce. Programming is supported by the Concord Cultural Council and the Mass Cultural Council as part of the Concord Center Cultural District initiative, which celebrates local arts, commerce, and community spirit.


Some highlights for the June 19th event

Concord Market, 97 Lowell Road: Live music by the Tarry Tones. Stop in for unique chip tastings and dip demos—think beyond salsa with easy, flavorful recipes using everyday ingredients and Concord Market’s culinary creativity. Concord Market is an artisanal grocery offering gourmet prepared foods, a full-service butcher, fresh-baked goods, wine, and more—all crafted and curated with exceptional care.

Concord Museum, 53 Cambridge Turnpike: Celebrate Juneteenth and explore Black and Abolitionist histories through powerful stories, images, and objects from the Museum’s collection. History Happy Hour celebrates Concord’s Black History. The evening including wine, beer, and light refreshments in the Museum’s courtyard, followed by a unique guided tour in the galleries. Happy hour begins at 6:30 pm with tours starting at 7:15 pm. Co-sponsored by The Robbins House. $15 Members | $25 Non-Members

Concord Scout House, 74 Walden Street: Folk dance with the Thursday Contras presented by the New England Folk Festival Association. Introductory pre-dance workshop at 7:10 pm with live music and dancing starting at 7:30. Performing this month is Liz Nelson and The Moving Violations.

Three Stones Gallery, 32 Main Street: Last days to view “Persephone’s Return.” The spring palette unfolds into the colors of summer. Brenda Cirioni’s textural abstract paintings carry the memory of a garden. Contemporary figurative paintings by Joan Hanley speak to the everyday curiosity of life. Concord-based artist Christiane Corcelle shares a dynamic mixed media paintings with a bold palette and composition. The show also features new works by represented artists Cindy Crimmin, Joe Faria, Jennifer M. Johnston, Joan Kocak, Bethany Noël, and guest artist Jill Goldman-Callahan.

Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House, 399 Lexington Road:  Open late with guided tours, special activities and the Museum Store.

Walden Liquors, 18R Walden Street:  Stop by for a wine tasting during Third Thursday showcasing this month’s special offering with their knowledgeable staff.
